By becoming an ipernity member, you automatically have your own blog. You will finally be able to express your ideas, opinions, state of mind ... whatever you want.
The blog is also a stage for your documents: you can insert your photos and videos in your posts. Practice for your travel stories!
And as with your documents, you can share your posts with whom you want: your family, friends or everybody!
You can illustrate your posts with any document that you've uploaded to ipernity.
To do this, go to the article pages ("New post" or "Edit post").
Click on the "Insert a media" icon.
A window will open and let you select the document you want.
To delete a document inserted into a post, simply click on it to select it and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. That's it!
You can publish a video from Youtube, Dailymotion and Google Video.
Here is an example for a video hosted on Youtube.
1- On Youtube: view the video and copy the CODE
2- On ipernity: create a new post and click on the SOURCE button
3- Paste only the <embed........./> tag and hit SOURCE again to complete your post.
(if you paste the whole code, the video won't be shown once your post is saved)
To share your posts, you must specify who you want to see your posts (friends, family or the world) and add the members of your network to the corresponding categories.
Mark your posts
You can choose the sharing options for posts at the time of writing, or by specifying default sharing options in Preferences / default sharing options (which applies to new posts).
If you don't check off any items under "private", the posts will only be visible to you.
You can set global sharing options for new posts that you upload in your default sharing options.
Select your loved ones
You can "mark" your family as Family, Friends (or Contacts, if you don't check either off) when you invite them or when you add members already registered on ipernity.
At any time you can change the sharing options of your posts and change member categories.

We encourage you to allow comments as much as possible as you'll surely appreciate the reactions from your visitors. But it's your decision ;-)
You can manage the rights for commenting on all your posts using your default sharing preferences. Your choice will only apply to new posts.
For previously published posts, just click the "change" in the "Comments & privacy" section.
Realize that only logged-on members can comment on your posts. If a particular Member bothers you and you don't want them to be able leave you feedback, you can block them.
You can allow or disallow the addition of tags for all your posts in your default sharing preference. This will only apply to new posts.
For those items that you have already published: display them, click on "change" under "Comments & privacy" then, answer the question "Who is permitted to add tags & notes?"
To create a link on an ipernity page to another website:
1- Select the text for the link by highlighting it
2- Click on the "Insert/Edit link" button
3- In the window that pops up, enter a valid web address
When you insert a document hosted on ipernity, a link is automatically created. All you have to do is click on the document.
Just send an email using the specific address which is found in Preferences / Upload & blog by email.
Then:
1 - Provide the title in the subject of the email
2 - Type your text in the message body
3 - You can also add documents by adding attachment.
Your posts inherit your default sharing options. If you want to make changes and add tags, go to the Upload & blog by email page for the syntax.
We've setup Creative Commons licenses and we encourage you to use them. This mechanism allows you to inform your visitors of conditions on the use of your posts. If you do not wish to assign licensing, a copyright will be added by default.
You can define a global license for your posts in your Preferences / Default license.
To assign a license to an existing post: view it, click on "change" in the "Comments & privacy" section and choose the license you want to use for the post.
Your posts are sorted by date of publication, the most recent first. To change this, just change the date of publication, using the "When do you want to publish this post" function (accessible by clicking on "Edit this post").
