About the group Digital Life Comment Group

This is a COMMENTS group. If you enjoy commenting on other photos you are WELCOME TO JOIN but if you do not have time for comments this is not the group for you. If you cannot accept criticism of your work - PLEASE DO NOT POST IT HERE.

With that caveat - this does not mean others can simply savage the work of other members indiscriminately. Please be encouraging, if you don't like a photo don't attack it. Please be friendly! People want to grow as photographers, destructive criticism does not help achieve this.

Leaving comments does NOT MEAN just pasting the comment code in. It MEANS actually leaving a comment on the picture and then pasting in the comment code. This is a COMMENTS group which means you MUST leave a proper comment. Please do NOT just copy and paste the same message into every comment you make. This is not only disrespectful to other members that actually take time to comment on your photos but just ignorant and lazy.

We aim to achieve a quality group with at least one thing in common. Living our life through a lens and enjoying the work of others.

This group is for rating pictures that only you have taken.

The rules are as follows:

1. Please, comment on couple of previous photos in the pool. Guidelines are below.
2. Be fair. No revenge comments.

Copy and paste the following into a comment:

Guidelines:

TECHNICAL
Is the photo sharp/or lacks it, are parts of the photo overexposed/too dark? Are the shades in a black and white to dark or light? Are details in shadows/highlights visible? Is the use of Depth of Field good or is the background too distracting? Is there lots of noise/grain in the photograph?

COMPOSITION
The layout of the photo. Was it well planned? Did care and thought go into taking it? Is anything out of place? Are there any distracting elements? Remember there are rules most photographers follow (like the rule of thirds). These rules are just rules and can also be broken!

COLOR / TONES / SHADES
Are the colors suitable to the photo? If it's a black and white does it suit the image? Would the original color been better? Is the color too saturated? Do the colours/tones justify being vibrant/soft? Are they eye-catching?

CAPTURE
This should reflect your personal preferences. Did the image make you smile? Did the photo have an impact on you? How much do you like it? How creative is the photo? Is it something that is unique? This is where you give points you personally want to give.

P.S. Help to collect photos, please invite members.
