The closest bluejay is a chick that has been following its parent around begging. We put some popcorn.. the parent left her chicks to gorge themselves while she went off to get herself a meal

A noble fellow... Mushroom has been using the haulout I observe a lot this summer. Often he has a little cluster of newly weaned pups around him. He is like a kind uncle, very tolerant of them when their mothers want nothing more to do with them.
