My dear friend Conchita, better known by her stage name of Miss Azucarbarra, always said she would marry an Airforce pilot. Well . . .Elmer had served with the USAAF during World War II, but his flying exploits by the 1950s were strictly those of crop spraying. No matter, he flew a plane and that was good enough for Miss Azucarbarra! Here she is wearing a dress she designed herself - wasp waist, no corset . . .all her own hair and teeth.
