As most of you probably will know, I'm a big fan of clouds and skies, especially in combination with a rising- or setting sun. I found this incredible spot, a couple of minutes walking from my home, and it's a beau-ti-ful place to get the most incredible sunsets...

Off...

Finally.

After more than half a year of working, and housing trouble, a well deserved two-weeks vacation has arrived. The plans for these weeks? Well, nearly nothing.

The agenda: A couple of days to Reims, visiting my Granny in Assen, doing some stuff at home, and a whole lot of relaxing, and maybe some Paris later on. But w/ the upcoming strike I don't think Paris will be such a good plan. I almost forgot: there's still some moving boxes that need to be unpacked. But they have been here for like a couple of months now, there's no hurry.

So, having that said, I'm off for a cup of coffee now. Nespresso, w/ a truffe. Yummie.

Easy.

It's been a while now, since I posted my last blog up here.

Things have slowed down a bit, and some issues have settled just right. Moving out of my previous apartment was kinda stressful, and now the long wait for the new kitchen begun. It's about to be installed somewhere half September, and in the meanwhile I'm camping at Perry's. Having no kitchen sucks.

The wooden floor needs to be finished (still a few m² are missing, but hey, the rest is done). My life is still boxed up (in moving boxes that is), and a lot of things have been put in non-labelled bags and boxes -- smart me.

Hopefully it all will be over after the 25th September, but till then I just hang in here, and try to make the best out of this situation I'm in.

That's also why you won't be seeing a lot of new photos, that will change in September too.

For now: I just enjoy your photos, and try to keep my stress levels to a minimum.

Comfortable / La table du Comfort / Angenehm

Lomo-ish
Lomo-ish

I've been up and running here on ipernity for a while now, and I get more and more comfortable with the possibilities here. Blogging, photos, vids, docs, great! Plowing through all of your blogs (I mean almost all of your blogs), I kinda felt an urge to do so myself. Posting what's on my mind, what's cooking, what needs to be done, how I feel -- like you all do.

Also, comparing to another photo-sharing site, I have noticed that the creativity level is much higher. Not that I mind photos of grand-children, dogs, birthday beer bashes, vacation pix (person in front of Eiffel tower/Moulin Rouge/London Bridge/Koelner Dom/Anne Frankhuis), but ... well... It just doesn't boost my own creative mind.

Therefore a big THANK YOU to all of you for sharing your creative spirits with the rest of the ipernity community.

*tilts head and puts up a thinking face*

Maybe I shouldn't use the word community. Been there, done that.

Tired.

I never realised that buying a house would be so extremely tiresome!  Sleeping 7 hours in a row does not help, I'm ever so tired. Tomorrow, the company that is going to move my stuff will make a call, to see what needs to be done and ofcourse what the price tag will be.

For now; I'm just being a lazy bum, hanging around on the net, checking out ipernity and flickr (yes, I still do, even though I know they are nothing more than another Y! Sellout.

House.

Finally, after having issued quite some forms, signed a multitude of papers and made a bunch of phone calls, the mortgage is settled and I'm moving in July! Still a lot to do, but that's ok. If it wasn't for me being slightly crippled.

What happened: On a certain Sunday, I went home from work on my bike.Through the Dam straat (in Amsterdam that is, behind the Monument on the Dam square), which is always packed w/ tourists. I know that tourists are not used to bikes, and their respective alarming TRRRRING when people get in the way. But that's ok, I'm pretty used to dodging tourists and not getting run over by a taxi.

On this Sunday, I rushed home as I was tired and it was a hectic day at work. I went through the Dam straat, where it was very busy - the combination of Sun, warmth, and a Sunday always floods the terraces. And I already knew that I had to be very careful not to run into/over people minding their own busines. And that's where things went wrong...

Biking on the dedicated and marked bike-path, I saw people walking on that strip. I dodged them, and too late I found another man walking on that strip. I hit him and fell on the street -  I went flat on the ground. My hand is grazed, my knee, elbow and wrist are severely bruised, and so is my chin.

This happened about a week ago, and it all still hurts. ouch.

So no sanding or painting for me the next few days....
