Help us in translating our FAQ into English!

Thursday March 6, 2008 at 03:00PM

Hurray! We have finally completed the rewrite of Ipernity's F.A.Q. in our native language (French).

We are looking for English-native volunteers who could help us in translating this same F.A.Q into English.

In exchange for your helping us translate Ipernity's F.A.Q. from French to English, we will offer you a "Pro" account. This is our way of showing you how much we appreciate your language translation contributions!

Interested? Send me an iperMail and I will try to respond as quickly as possible!

Would being from Texas qualify as english-native language? :-)

We have a 'drawl' and a lot of slang, but english is our first language. Don't know much, if any, french though... I use the online translators to communicate when neccessary. They come fairly close.

I can help (i am english, and studied french but only to gcse) but it would be fairly easy to use a dictionary and babelfish to take it and translate it into something more comprehensible. I'm willing to help but would only be able to do shortish sections at a time. But yeah, willing to help.

My wife, Sharon a photographer and writer of sorts, has taught in high school both French and also English as a second language and primary English... as a Legal secretary she also translated legal documents sent from france for her lawyer boss, etc. so if you send us a sample of what you have done in FAQ, we will promptly respond with a sample of what we can possibly produce for you. by the way I'm an artist but I do like to try and speak a little working-class French whenever we are staying in France... So send us a page of FAQ in your French and let us give a go?

I'd be happy to offer any help you might need. My French and German are very basic, but my English is native, and I rather enjoy copy editing. I'm quite prolific on Wikipedia! ;)

Also, there are mild, but sometimes confusing differences between Scottish, British, U.S., Canadian, Australian, and South African English! I've worked with these a bit, and would be keen to help ipernity avoid any potentially troublesome words and phrases.
