I came to learn about ipernity because one of my flickrfriends left flickr and told me he was going here. Censorship and filters on flickr being a fact.

This is a nice place and I think I might be here for good. I really like some of the features here, making my page a bit personal is really nice.

I have removed 400 shots from my flickr account. There are 3 shots left. I decided not to close the account, but to leave some significant shots behind and a message my flickr friends to read. I did not want to leave without saying why.

I am actually really glad that I came over to ipernity - it felt good emptying my albums on flickr and telling my pals why I was leaving. I wrote a note to a few of my old groups there and in one of them a discussion arose about censorship and wether or not flickr could have made another choice than putting up filters.

I have yet to find a function that I miss from flicrk, there are quite a few that I enjoy here. I would like to do that music thingy, but I don't know how ... yet.

I have geotagged several shots now, and that proved to be easier here than on flickr

I can see that some of the satellite shots are not up to date, but actually they seem newer than on flickr

Out on Amager Strandpark (wheelchairshots) the "land addition" is there here on ipernity, so I don't have to place the shots out in the water.

Two days ago, I suddenly had 20 messages. A little bubble up there said so. So I clicked on Messages and I did indeed have 20 messages.

Since then I click on messages once a day and I always have messages, but the bubble is quiet.

Do bubbles indeed need time off..........I wonder.

I am saving up for the Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED.

I would also love a wide lens. Mayby a Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X 124AF Pro DX

A true story from the future.

I think I need one. Arrived here at our place in the country and have just found out that I have two hours left of juice for my laptop and yes, I forgot the juicemachine at home. So, not much going on here for a couple of days.

The brain-situation is obviously more serious than I thought.

I hadn't forgotten anything. I just couldn't find it in my bag untill the umptieth time I looked.

Anyway, it means I can hammer away when I am not in the greenhouse/nursery or in the woods or whatever.

I am uploading some old shots that used to be on flickr and I thought I would pick them in groups. First I started with my granddaughter, now I am uploading birds. I know exactly where I am going from there :)

I have uploaded most of my bird shots and move over to feathers and at the same time want to show you some colourful people I have come across.

Still uploading old stuff and some new things in between. Inspired by one of my contacts, I am now uploading a few shots from Rügen in Germany.

My daughter Anna Valla is celebrating her 30th birthday this weekend. A fantastic party last night with her many friends and the family. These shots are all scanned and not much work done on them, just wanted to say Happy Birthday Anna Valla!

Not in the shooting mood, a lot of practical things to do before we leave the house in the country and head for the city. But I have been so inactive lately that I feel like uploading a bit. Starting with my youngest and then on to shots from my travels maybe.

Got stuck uploading buildings and interiors, will upload travel shots next. I have a shoot scheduled on Saturday, I do not feel inspired.

This summer, we had planned a month long trip, starting out in France, then Switzerland and back to France and then the Mediterranean coast to Italy and in Tuscany we had rented a place for a week, and then north again. But Janke is not well and is in fact waiting for surgery and we cancelled. We should have been leaving Tuscany right about now, so I am going back to other trips to Italy, looking forward to next year.

One thing is good about this delay - we now know that we should either travel later, september maybe, or in the early summer. It is way to hot in August.

Why? Because if they hadn't gotten so hot on censorship, I would not have found Ipernity. Had I not found Ipernity I would not have gotten so many new photo-friends. Had I not found Ipernity, I would not have gotten to try to use the little German I know. It is a joy to see that I understand more than I thought I would, and if I was braver I would probably venture into writing more in German than I do.

It is joy to meet so many Germans, nice bunch they are and phenomenal photographers.
