What kind of writing permission do I need to give the “cachedate” and “cachestore” files? "Owner", "group" or "others"? (This is the choice my FTP program gives me, I don't really know what they mean...)

Somebody brought it to my attention that the xhtml code output of ipeRSS is erroneous. The slash and the closing bracket are missing at the end of all image links. Apparently there is something missing in line 124 in "iperss.php". Firefox shows the pictures OK in any case, but maybe you should correct this?

Kalle, have a look at Bertilos post and my anwer to it. I fixed it already and will relese the final beta (“final beta” ... lol *g*) in the next few days (if the documentation is done).

The webserver runs under a specific user (maybe www-data, apache, or whatever). This user needs write permission to the two files. If the owner of the files is the same as thee user for FTP, you need to give permission to “Owner”. If the two users in the same group, then use “group”. If FTP user and webserver user different and in different groups, then you need to give “Other” the permission.

But ... If you don’t get an error, saying, that one of the files is not writable, if you call the function, then you don’t need to do anything.

Hallo! Ich habe Kalle ein Bisschen geholfen, und dann ich habe zufällig einen klitzekleinen Fehler gefunden. In "iprss.php", Linie 124, fehlt ein Teil von dem "img"-Tag:

'class="'.$class.'"';

Das muss natürlich so sein:

'class="'.$class.' />"';

Tschüssie!

Ja und nein :) Ja, es fehlt was, und nein, es muss "'.$class.'" />'; sein ;)

Hmm, auch mit dieser version des plugins, bekomme ich lediglich die Ausgabe "Could not load feed"
nachher wird alles ausgeblendet. keine menus mehr rechts, kein footer gar nichts. sieht aus wie wenn irgendwo etwas nicht sauber geschlossen wird. den fehler oben mit dem img tag habe ich auch korrigiert, nützt nichts.

Diese Meldung kommt, wenn die PHP-Funktion „file_get_contents();“ deaktiviert oder nicht verfügbar ist. Öffne mal die Datei „iperss.php“ im „iperss“-Verzeichnis, und entferne den Kommentar vor „ini_set('display_errors', 1);“ und lade die Seite, wo du die Bilder anzeigen willst neu. Wenn du jetzt nicht ein völliges Chaos vorfindest (Wordpress ist nicht wirklich „sauber“ und die Fehleranzeige sehr empfindlich *g*), solltest du nun irgendwo auch was bezüglich URL, open, fopen, o. Ä. finden, und das dies deaktiviert ist, oder eine ähnliche Meldung. Und vermutlich auch, dass das Ändern von INI-Einträgen zur Laufzeit ebenfalls deaktiviert ist ...

Vielleicht mal den Provider Fragen, ob er das aktivieren kann. Falls das alte Plugin funktioniert haben sollte, einfach dies weiterverwenden. In der neuen Version ist letztendlich nur caching hinzugekommen :)
